Moving on/Moving Up

Is your child starting a new school in September?

- Are they feeling excited but maybe a little nervous?

- Are you wondering how they’ll cope, if they’ll make any friends, if they’ll ever remember
what books to bring?! Then this course can help!

​

Challenge Training Studios and Totem Learning and Wellbeing are pleased to offer your child a Moving On Course.

 

Through discussions and fun activities we’ll think about facing new challenges and how to stay calm, confident and positive!

 

We’ll look at how to help our brains and bodies deal with stress by

  • Learning about the ‘upstairs and downstairs’ parts of our brain

  • Practising yoga stretches to identify and release tension

  • Developing breathing and massage techniques to promote self control

  • Using affirmations to boost our confidence and resilience 

  • Discovering how exercise releases feel good hormones and helps us feel re-energised!

  • Trying guided visualisations as a way of helping our brains download and our bodies relax

 

WHEN:

Monday 12th, 19th, 26th Aug  with a reflection session on Monday 2nd Sept         6.30PM – 8:00PM

COST:  £40

Includes healthy snack and break-out session/workout in the gym

ABOUT THE TRAINERS:

Helen has over 20 years experience as a teacher in mainstream and special schools, and has worked on many wellbeing projects with educational psychologists and behaviour therapists

 

Natalie owns Challenge Training Studios, and is a qualified secondary school teacher and Children’s Fitness Instructor, with a Diploma in Child’s Nutrition

​

Calum has been a fitness instructor and personal trainer for many years qualified in Childrens Fitness Instruction with a vast experience working with young people and youth.
